At the heart of the educational process at the Department is practically oriented training. It plays a key role in learning and help students tactical medicine. In both cases studied technology assistance that meet the standards of the European Council and resuscitation protocol TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care).

The primary was equipping training rooms and dummy mannequins to practice skills. Currently, both courses feature a 60%.

Practical training takes the form of playing scenarios - simulated real situations in which a delay occurs sudden circulatory or other emergency conditions. Thus some students play the role of victims, the wounded, the others - medical rescuers, paramedics.

At present every practical task list includes equipment, scenarios and methods of their reproduction. All teachers of the department at meetings, seminars, master this form of work with students. Experience has shown that such classes like students, they acquire practical skills in situations that are close to reality.

Of great importance in the quality of the educational process is given to training teaching staff. In November 2008 the Department held a one-day course Immediate Life Support - Emergency resuscitation), and in 2010 - Advanced Life Support - Qualified events organized by the Polish Resuscitation Council resuscitation. Almost all teachers are instructors premedical and tactical medicine.

Ahead of the department difficult work of developing and implementing a new curriculum for emergency and urgent medical care in the context of Ukraine in a system of emergency medical care. It acquirement of new educational technologies, working out of the standard equipment of the department, training scenarios to each class, the organization of Advanced Training teachers of other universities on teaching urgent and emergency care. In the future - the creation of university ambulance stations where students under the guidance of the teacher will be able to go on around the clock calls to residents Ternopil to update knowledge and skills obtained at the department.

Significant improvement will take to prepare students for the program of reserve officers. The department develops new premises on the territory of "Chervona Kalyna" which would allow most practical exercises to refocus on the study in the field. The department receives bus transportation for students deploys new classrooms, places military sanitary equipment in specially constructed hangar, which will be trained in various weather conditions and contribute to the deepening of learning and practical skills.

Scientific work

Since 2007, the Department continued scientific research in the study of pathogenic mechanisms of severe injury. Since 2007, the department received state targeted funding to implement the theme "Pathogenic effect of trauma on the state of internal organs and develop ways of correction system" (supervisor prof. A. Hudyma). The main achievement of this work was the creation of models of trauma, one of which was included in the register of innovations in 2010, the definition of prognostic criteria of death traumatized animals on the basis of integrated rheogram, bringing systemic exposure ksenodermotransplantativ in conditions of severe trauma, accompanied by mechanical and thermal (frostbite, burns ) lesions of the skin. The results of research published 10 journal articles, 14 abstracts in scientific periodical publications, received three patents, made more than 20 implementations of the learning process and the activities of research laboratories at university medical higher educational institutions of Ukraine.

At the same time in 2007 in the Research Institute of the planned initiative complex theme that united Pathophysiology department, emergency medical service and medical informatics: "Medical Information Research Experimental Pathology of internal organs at various functional conditions and its correction" (supervisor prof. A. Hudyma). As a result, its performance was found honadektomiyi impact and Hormonal replacement therapy in the damaged hearts of female rats adrenaline, state of the nitric oxide in rats of different sexes, biochemical changes in animals with acute hepatitis tetrahlormetanovym, korehovanym enteral oxygenation, installed efficiency and continuous peritoneal dialysis oxygen oxygenation in the treatment of experimental pancreatic necrosis, address a number of issues of informatization of educational process, production and analysis of biological signals. According to results of the topic published over 40 articles in professional journals, more than 50 abstracts in materials of scientific forums, received 5 patents and more than 50 written to the educational and scientific activities.

Since 2010, the Department again received state targeted funding to implement the theme "Experimental study of patterns of apoptosis in conditions of severe combined trauma" (supervisor prof. A. Hudyma). At the same time it was planned comprehensive proactive ESI topic "Medical patterns and information flow model of pathological processes at different functional conditions and their correction" that allowed many young scientists to launch and successfully execute candidate and doctoral dissertations.

In the past five years, the department implemented a full-time and correspondence postgraduate study. In October 2008, successfully defended his thesis intramural graduate student Svan OB on "Pathogenetic features of liver disease under stress and local hypothermia of the skin and its correction" (supervisor prof. A. Hudyma). In June 2009, defended his thesis assistant department VV Podgorny on "Experimental study of impact of combinations of hepatotoxic antiulcer drugs and its correction" (supervisor - prof. A. Hudyma). In February 2010 PhD graduate student correspondence Sekela TJ on "Pathogenetic peculiarities of severe injuries in combination with mechanical damage to the skin and the application ksenodermoplastyky" (supervisor - prof. A. Hudyma). In March 2011, successfully defended his thesis senior lecturer, Lieutenant m / sl. VV Lototsky on "Mechanisms of liver disorders in the use of water-salt solutions with different composition of sodium and potassium" (supervisor prof. Mysula IR). In January 2012, successfully defended her dissertation of the Department OJ Z'yatkovska on "The Role of the previous emotional stress in the pathogenesis of morpho-functional disorders of the liver in terms of combined injuries" (supervisor prof. A. Hudyma). In February 2012 passed the thesis defense of assistant department RM Liakhovich on "Pathogenetic substantiation long intragastric oxygenation and metabolic therapy in the correction of acute hepatitis tetrahlormetanovoho" (supervisor - prof. VV Gnativ).

Today the department has 8 candidates candidate degree, 1 and 1 graduate in absentia applicant the degree of Doctor of Science.

In just 5 years, published 80 scientific papers in the form of articles in journals and theses at scientific conferences, congresses and conventions received 35 patents for inventions and utility models.

Ahead of the department difficult work of implementation patentable, competitive scientific products designed to perform urgent tasks of human health in extreme situations of emergency:

  • Study of the role of apoptosis in the pathogenesis of skeletal, traumatic brain injury and combination;
  • Study of the characteristics of the pathogenesis of severe injuries on the background of the changed resistance of the organism (chronic hepatitis, osteoporosis, etc.);
  • Study patterns of interaction with biological systems nanospolukamy;
  • Studying the biophysical properties bionanoproduktiv medical technology development perspective of their impact on innate tissue regeneration;
  • Participation in the development of evidence-based technology for emergency medical care in a mass lesions peace and war;
  • Participation in work on complex reorganization emergency and urgent medical care in Ukraine.

Each year, students who successfully complete the training program for reserve officers solemnly up the military oath of allegiance to the Ukrainian people.
